1/4" (6.350mm) (Lot of 25) Grade 10 tungsten carbide balls.

Tungsten carbide balls are used in applications requiring extreme hardness and resistance to wear and abrasion; and are able to withstand hard shocks and impacts. Craig Ball Sales tungsten carbide balls are made with 6% nickel binder or 9% nickel binder.

Applications using tungsten carbide balls include special valves, flow meters, recirculating ball bearing screws, linear bearings and balls for ball point pens. They are also used for minting, and for measurement or calibration of holes and measurement checking devices.

Use these to press through 316L SS undersized hole @ -.030 approx. and one sphere has held up for over 300 presses so far through .250 thickness. We use coolant of water based wax emulsion. Far side hole support die is sized to the sphere size and works great with high gains on surface hardening. No distortion or champing at the exit edge. Press effort is minimal because of our lubricant and sphere surface.
Very happy about these tungsten carbides. No wear or distortion yet measured.
